Watch football from New Zealand
Living at the edge of the world does not mean missing the game. It just means knowing when to set the alarm. This page is your guide to following your team from New Zealand, whether they play in Europe, South America or right here at home.
The simple rule for kickoff times
New Zealand is one of the first places in the world to see each new day, so almost every big match happens while we sleep or early in our morning. Two rules of thumb cover most of it.
- European football (Premier League, Champions League, La Liga). Europe is around eleven to twelve hours behind us. A Saturday afternoon match in England lands in the early hours of Sunday morning here. Midweek evening games in Europe are often perfect with breakfast.
- South American football (Copa Libertadores, the big leagues). South America is around fifteen to sixteen hours behind us. An evening match over there usually lands around the middle of the following day in New Zealand, good for a lunch break.
These times shift by an hour or two through the year as New Zealand and the other countries move in and out of daylight saving. The reliable way to be sure: take the kickoff time shown for the match, then search “that time in New Zealand time” or use a world clock. Set the alarm the night before and you will never miss it.

- Sky Sport and Sky Sport Now. The main home of live football in New Zealand, including every Premier League match. Sky Sport Now is the streaming option, and it has a Day Pass (around thirty dollars) which is handy when you only want to watch one big match without a full subscription.

La regla simple para los horarios
Nueva Zelanda es uno de los primeros lugares del mundo en ver cada nuevo día, así que casi todos los partidos grandes ocurren mientras dormimos o temprano en la mañana. Dos reglas cubren casi todo.
- Fútbol europeo (Premier League, Champions League, La Liga). Europa va unas once o doce horas detrás de nosotros. Un partido del sábado por la tarde en Inglaterra cae en la madrugada del domingo aquí. Los partidos de entre semana por la noche en Europa suelen quedar perfectos con el desayuno.
- Fútbol sudamericano (Copa Libertadores, las grandes ligas). Sudamérica va unas quince o dieciséis horas detrás de nosotros. Un partido nocturno allá suele caer cerca del mediodía del día siguiente en Nueva Zelanda, ideal para la hora de almuerzo.
Estos horarios cambian una hora o dos durante el año cuando Nueva Zelanda y los otros países entran y salen del horario de verano. La forma segura de saberlo: toma la hora del partido y busca “esa hora en horario de Nueva Zelanda” o usa un reloj mundial. Pon la alarma la noche anterior y no te lo pierdes.
