Fútbol.co.nz is New Zealand’s only bilingual football blog. News, opinions, and passion for the beautiful game, in English and Spanish, from the other side of the world.

This blog is written by a Chilean-Kiwi football fan who grew up on the terraces of South American football and now lives at the bottom of the Pacific, where the seasons are upside down and the kick-off times are worse. I follow Colo-Colo first, Chilean football always, the All Whites with growing affection, and absolutely everything else because I cannot help myself.

What you will find here: World Cup 2026 coverage built for New Zealand readers, All Whites match previews and honest reactions, South American football explained for Kiwis, Colo-Colo and Chilean football coverage, Premier League opinions, and columns about football culture written by someone who misses the noise of a South American stadium every single day.

What you will not find here: neutrality. I have opinions. That is the point. Football written like a press release is not football, and where I come from, a fan who does not argue is a fan who does not care.

Posts alternate between English and Spanish. They are not translations of each other: each piece is written natively for its audience, because Kiwi readers and Latin American readers need different things, and both deserve the real thing.

El fútbol del fin del mundo

Fútbol.co.nz es el único blog de fútbol bilingüe de Nueva Zelanda. Noticias, opiniones y pasión por el juego más lindo del mundo, en español y en inglés, desde el otro lado del planeta.

Este blog lo escribe un hincha chileno-kiwi que se crió en las tribunas del fútbol sudamericano y ahora vive en el fondo del Pacífico, donde las estaciones están al revés y los horarios de los partidos son un castigo. Soy de Colo-Colo primero, del fútbol chileno siempre, de los All Whites con un cariño que crece cada año, y de todo lo demás porque no puedo evitarlo.

Acá vas a encontrar: cobertura del Mundial 2026 pensada para los que vivimos en Nueva Zelanda, con horarios en hora local; análisis de los All Whites; fútbol sudamericano contado con conocimiento de causa; Colo-Colo y el fútbol chileno seguidos desde la distancia con el corazón apretado; Premier League; y columnas sobre la cultura futbolera, escritas por alguien que extraña el ruido de un estadio sudamericano todos los días.

Lo que no vas a encontrar: neutralidad. Tengo opiniones. Esa es la gracia. El fútbol escrito como comunicado de prensa no es fútbol, y de donde yo vengo, un hincha que no discute es un hincha que no quiere.

Los artículos alternan entre español e inglés. No son traducciones: cada pieza se escribe original en su idioma, porque el lector kiwi y el lector latino necesitan cosas distintas, y los dos merecen lo auténtico.
